How to export your Withings data
Withings lets you download a full CSV archive of everything its scales, watches and monitors have recorded. Baseline reads Withings weight and heart-rate CSVs today — they refresh your profile weight and resting heart rate.
One-click: go straight to the export screen
Opens Withings' export-my-data page — sign in if prompted, tick the categories you want, and download the ZIP.
Can you export this data?
Yes. Every Withings account can download its data as a set of CSV files, split by measurement type (weight, blood pressure, activity, sleep, etc).
Step-by-step
- 1Open account.withings.com in a browser and sign in.
- 2Click your avatar in the top-right and choose Settings (or Profile → Settings).
- 3Select the user whose data you want to export.
- 4Click Download my data — Withings prepares a ZIP containing one CSV per measurement type.
- 5Save the ZIP or the individual CSVs somewhere you can find them.
What’s in the file
You get several CSV files: weight.csv (weight, fat percentage, muscle mass, bone mass, water percentage), heart_rate.csv, blood_pressure.csv, and activity/sleep summaries. Each row has a timestamp so Baseline can order them correctly.
What Baseline does with it
Baseline reads `weight.csv` and `heart_rate.csv` today. The latest weight reading updates your profile weight. The median resting heart rate over the last 30 days is used to fill your profile resting HR when you haven't set one manually. Other Withings CSVs (blood pressure, activity, sleep) are on the roadmap.
Common issues
- Withings weight CSVs can include multiple readings per day. Baseline uses a rolling median so a single bad reading doesn't skew your trend.
- Body-fat percentages from smart scales are estimates. Baseline surfaces confidence rather than presenting them as clinical measurements.
- If you have multiple household members on one scale, make sure you export the right profile — Withings splits data per user.
Privacy note
Body-metric data is personal. Your Withings CSVs are parsed in your browser and discarded when the tab closes. Only the derived summary — latest weight and 30-day resting-HR median — is ever sent to Baseline's servers, and only if you sign in and choose to save. The raw daily readings are never uploaded.
Frequently asked
- Do I need a Withings account to use Baseline?
- No. Withings is one supported source among many. If you use a different scale, you can log body metrics in the generic body-metric CSV template Baseline provides.
- Can Baseline read data from the Withings API?
- Not today. We're file-upload-first on purpose — no OAuth prompts, no ongoing access. If you want us to keep pulling automatically later, that will be an opt-in.
- What about blood pressure?
- Blood-pressure CSVs are included in your Withings export but are not yet read by Baseline. Weight and resting heart rate are what we use today.
